Vista, CA - December 2007 Systems Engineering & Management Company (SEMCO) received the initial contract award to provide hardware that will make effective a system capable of defending the United States against ballistic missile attack. The U.S. Navy and Aegis contractor Lockheed Martin have selected the SEMCO R200 Receiver and TSS100 Signal Simulator for integration into the MDA tactical weapons system aboard over a dozen Aegis-class cruisers and destroyers. Earlier sea-based "hit to kill" Standard Missile-3 intercept telemetry tests were conducted utilizing SEMCO RC600A Receiver/Combiner systems deployed onboard the USS Lake Erie and USS Shiloh. The tactical weapons system aboard each ship will contain a minimum of 8 SEMCO receivers and 4 signal simulators.
